As part of a task to modernize the dependency management system it was agreed that Mantid would become a “conda-first” project, i.e. our standard mechanism for obtaining dependencies would be through Conda. Other mechanisms would not be ruled out and the buildsystem would not require Conda but it would form the basis of our packaging strategy for distribution to users.
After some initial work to support building Mantid on all 3 environments within Conda, we are ready to consider how we deploy packages to users. To this end a conda packaging strategy document has been created and we would like to invite feedback on this. If possible please comment on the pull request directly but do feel free to leave comments here also.
