We are proud to announce version 6.5.0 of Mantid is now available. Installation packages can be found on our download page. You can also access the source code on the GitHub release page. Please take a look at the release notes, which are filled with details of all of the changes and improvements in many other areas. The development team has put a great effort into making all of these improvements and we would like to thank all of our beta testers for their time and effort helping us to make this another reliable version. Thank you to everyone that has reported any issues to us and please keep on reporting any problems you have on our forum or by email on firstname.lastname@example.org.
.rpm and .deb no longer available
This and future releases will no longer provide an .rpm for Red Hat and a .deb for Ubuntu. The new Linux tarball provided will work on both of these systems and has the advantage of not being tied to ancient system libraries that have held up internal updates. The new tarball can also be extracted and run anywhere, so does not require root permissions to install.
Installation on IDAaaS at ISIS : Along with the IDAaaS team we have made some changes so that the latest version will be installed alongside the previous version so that the version will no longer be pinned and the most recent and previous version will be available simultaneously.
New Landing Page (www.mantidproject.org)
We have also taken this opportunity to publish a new front page for mantidproject.org. This new page replaces the ancient wiki pages where any relevant content has been migrated to docs.mantidproject.org to be versioned with the code. We have captured a snapshot of the old pages and these are available at archive.mantidproject.org should they be required. If you notice any content that you find in the archive pages that should be in docs then please let us know.
